This iconic retreat is situated just 1 hour southwest of Brisbane in the beautiful Lockyer Valley. Offering stunning views across the Scenic Rim, the Spicers Hidden Vale retreat is comprised of a mix of beautifully restored Queenslander style cottages, barn rooms, private catering rooms, and more. And the heart of this retreat is the beautiful Homestead.

The previous Homestead was a single-story renovated building with traditional style wrap-around verandas and a large hip roof. The historic building was the first touchpoint for guests looking to experience the luxury holiday retreat and housed the guest reception, restaurant, boardroom, bar, lounge areas, wine cellar, and administration offices.

In April 2018, the entire Homestead was destroyed by fire. The land and grounds on which the previous homestead stood have remained unaffected.

Immediately plans for restoring the Homestead started, appointing key industry renown designers, architects, builders, and suppliers to help make this project a reality.

Rebuilt from the ground up the project was completed in early 2020 with the new homestead occupying the same footprint, providing the same facilities, and continuing to provide guest access to the infinity pool, tennis and bocce courts, and lawns. The stunning new Homestead pays homage to the history of its colourful past, while incorporating modern luxurious finishings that Spicers Retreats are renowned for.
