Feature Timber Windows & Doors Project | The Island House – Duce

The Island House

Designed by BDA Architecture, the award-winning Island House project located on South Stradbroke Island effortlessly blends with its surrounding rainforest and offers its residents a seamless connection to the natural landscape. Our bespoke timber windows and doors played a crucial role in bringing this vision to life, contributing to the project’s defining elements of warmth and harmony with nature.

The design, characterised by pavilion-like forms, distinctly separates the public and private spaces. The use of New Guinea Rosewood in the public areas creates a timeless connection with the surrounding environment, while the charred timber cladding of the bedroom wing adds a striking contrast. Expertly crafted timber windows and doors complement the project’s material palette, enhancing the fluid indoor-outdoor living experience and maximizing natural light, key aspects of the architectural design.

In this remarkable retreat, the craftsmanship of our timber elements works harmoniously with the sophisticated architectural details, offering not only beauty but durability in the island’s coastal environment. The Island House stands as a testament to our commitment to producing high-quality, custom-made timber products that meet the highest standards of architectural excellence.
